After several small losing trades today, I finally entered long in the ES this afternoon as lunch time was ending. Beautiful PBS on the 1 minute chart which broke out to new highs. Price then retraced back down to just below the 20ma before taking off again to make another new high. My rules say that since price made a new higher high, than, I can move up my stop again to the new higher low. Price again moved back down and pivoted at the rising 20 ma but on the next bar's high, I immediately moved my stop up since I felt that it was getting late in the afternoon and that I should be more aggressively managing my trade, stuppied! This is just a case of not following the rules and price immediately rolled over and took out my stop, then price proceeded to take out the prior two highs and really break out to the upside. Now, if I would have just followed my rules, I'd be up nicely on the day instead, I'm down a few bucks. Follow thy rules!
